Another Brooch!

This is soooooo adorable I want one now!

As you can see I have incorporated my "Fawns" and "Squirrels" this week into brooches.

Hand felted this gorgeous little brooch is available as an ornament too.

I have quite a lovely scarf this would team well with ;)

There aren't enough Squirrels!

So it has become completely apparent to me that this blog is dangerous!!!
Quite litterally all of the items I put up here I BUY!!!
Its becoming more of a "look what I brought today" blog..

I made the stirn decision that there isn't enough Squirrels on this blog, nor are there enough FAWNS!
I feel like a slacker!!! So I have made it my business to ensure there is one of each everyweek..
"sweats"!

Look! Look at this hand painted wooden brooch!
The perfect way to have art with you everyday is to buy a pretty little brooch and display it for all to see. And, does it get better than a cute little deer playing with a butterfly? I think not!

RRP: $17.00

Weekend edition!

Welcome to the Weekend Edition!
I know, I know it's Sunday.. Well ive been busy, Haha.

The idea of the weekend Edition is to show you out there an item a week which would be amazingly uselful or just awsome for the weekend!

There would be no better item to start off a weekend product guide than with a Picnic basket!!
I have chosen two of my favorites.
The first being quite an unusual option and the other more traditional with a zesty twist!!

Option 1. The "Manhattan cocktail set"

I mean honestly a cocktail picnic set! I am there!!!! Perfect picnic if you ask me..

RRP: $139.95

This comes in two colours- Tan and Black (The tan makes it look all the more vintage!)
The product is completely insulated and made of leatherette with a sholder strap for convenience.

With a limited lifetime warranty and space for two bottles it is well worth the $139.95

The website is perfect for absolutely all your picnic needs.

Option 2.

One of the most convenient picnic sets I have ever seen!

It is none other than  the Cath Kidston "Flat pack picnic set"
Not only is it super adorable but it is a throw away!!
Not to mention compact!

At RRP: $49.95 it is completely laminated so you could re-use if needed, but I mean who cares if you have to throw it away because you dont have to carry it!!!

This is yet another wonderful product which can be found on Larkmade.com.au

Recipe for today, thankyou Donna Hay!

Cheat Chicken Pie!

So I have made this a few times and everyone loves it!!
My friends have asked for the recipe and some family members so I thought I would pass it on here to you aswell. I know you'll all love it too.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (320g) coarsely chopped cooked chicken
  • ¾ cup (180g) sour cream ( I use 1- 1.5 cups but I love it extremely creamy!)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon rind
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • sea salt and cracked black pepper
  • 4 x 200g sheets store-bought butter puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Combine the chicken, sour cream, basil, lemon rind, mustard, salt and pepper.
  3. Cut 2 x 15cm x 10cm rectangles from the pastry and place on a baking tray lined with non-stick baking paper.
  4. Spoon the filling into the centre of the pastry.
  5. Brush just inside the edge of the pastry with the egg.
  6. Cut 2 x 18cm x 12cm rectangles from the remaining pastry and place over the filling.
  7. Gently press the edges together to seal. Brush the tops of the pies with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake the pies for 25–30 minutes or until pastry is puffed and golden.

This should feed 2 people but honestly my partner and I have left overs!
Very generous portions!!

Dress of the day!

Absolutely stunning and extremely versitile!

This beautiful dress is from the "MeandOli" Etsy shop!

"A bird in the hand fly me dress"
(as if you dont love the name!)

Very light silk/cotton fabric which means its perfect for a hot day.
(Yes I am already thinking of Summer!)

RRP: $160.00

I honestly dont know why I decided to do something like this, I am destroying my wallet to buy the things that I find!!

The dress would be absolutely perfect with a thin, brown or burgandy leather belt! And... A few SMALL accessories as the dress is bright and playful enough you dont need anything else.

(credit card details are being extracted from wallet!)

I bet you will love this as much as I!

Vintage toy day!

It's been a while!!

Well hello readers from near and far....
This blog edition is on vintage toys! I mean honestly who does not love vintage toys!!!

I try to collect bits and bobs here and there because they capture the mind and if there is anything a parent wants for their child its a wide spread imagination! (And maybe for herself too!)

Our first object today is actually for a very close friend who has requested I find her a Mr. Potato Head.
Odd request? Not really, I have a couple in my kitchen which captured her eye so I was sent on a mission!
Mission accepted and completed I have come here to share with everyone!

Whilst in depth in my research I came across these which I think are absolutely adorable, on a site dedicated to everything Mr. Potato Head! Awsome you say? I know right!

I have absolutely no idea if she will like them but fingers crossed!

Honestly is there anything cooler than "Kiss" potatos???

The RRP: $69.95 USD

I do not think they ship to Australia but..There are many on there which you could just look up the title on eBay and find them there.

I even managed to find the original Mr. Potato Head kit, like on the video below!

It is absolutely amazing what people keep for so long....

I hope this helps all you Potato enthusiasts!

Outfit of the day! The Anthropologie way!

Stunning outfit I want so bad!!!

The first piece is the "Winners Circle Tee" in White
RRP: $48.00
Such a beautiful neckline you do not by anymeans need a necklace..

The Second piece and my favorite (I am saving for!) the "Glossed Loafers" 3.5inches in Turquoise with a mixture of leather and synthetic materials these loafers are the perfect pair of shoes to standout from a crowd!
Such a simple style full of elegance and poise with a POP!
RRP: $168.00

The third piece is an adorable "Trenchcoat Skirt" in Moss
I just love this as I have so many (I mean so many!) coats, they are by far my favorite piece of clothing to buy.. And, to have the style captured in a skirt is enough to make me smile and crave one!
RRP: $138.00

The fourth and final edition to this outfit is the earings which are also in Turquoise to ensure the
look you are grabbing is evenly distributed. They are known as the "Acoma" earings, which
is rather appropriate because I might have a-coma if I dont get this outfit and these stunning earings.
RRP: $38.00

I personally think that if you finish the outfit with a tiny line of Turquoise eyeshadow and black eyeliner it will set the whole look alight!

My personal recomendation is MAC!

Homeware of the week!

Alice in Wonderland for Tea!

So I promised a pretty little homeware and a pretty little homeware is what you shall get!
Whoever you are =)
So maybe 2 weeks ago one of my closest friends, my son and I went on a little day trip to the Berry Tea Shop (cutest little place in the cutest little town!) and while sitting there eating the most fantastic scons with the absolute yummiest rasberry jam I have ever eaten (Which I brought!) and drinking a tea which was far too strong for my simple pallet to handle.. I noticed to my left on the centre table the cutest tea for two pot! I am a strong advocate for drinking tea and I absolutely adore teapots and cups especially Alice In Wonderland themed ones!! Not to mention I am addicted to collecting things!
Anyway... I wandered over and admired it and another I had seen on Lark.com.au checked the price tag and thought "my goodnees I must have this!!" Thinking i'll come back because I didnt wish to kart it around all day I forgot.. So on one of my many searching sprees I found it!!
And I am finding my card right now!! =)
It is the Alice in Wonderland Tea for two teapot from Morpethteddybears.com.au
RRP: $75.00
Must have for any tea enthusiast!!

Tuesday is decor day!

Simple and Colourful takes off

All of these pieces were selected for their colour and mish-mash style together.. When Decorating I love to throw many different textiles together it adds lots of pop to the room..  But, I always ensure there is a piece that is rather plain that I am able to jazz up.
I find it nesassary to have a few simple pieces within a room, as a pallet cleanser I suppose just like sniffing coffee after many perfumes to recapture your sense of smell the simple pieces ensure you are not overwhelmed buy too many busy pieces.

The first Piece is a "Flower Weave Rug" from adaanddarcy.com.au
This rug is completely hand woven of hemp materials and is just under 2m in diameter.
(It will be appart of my decor!)
RRP: $450.00
I highly recomend this rug to anyone who loves to add a vintage touch to their home.

The Second piece also from adaanddarcy.com.au is a stunning little Pouffe in "Bubblegum Pink"
This gives a shot of femininity to the room with a useful purpose.
I have one the same in the "Watermelon"..
RRP: $184.00
At 55cmx30cm this is a beautiful object of decor to add to any room as it comes in many different colours
to suit anyones taste.

The Third Piece is a high back arm chair known as the "Riccardo" which is apparently a "his" chair but it is so nice I will reclaim as a classy tea chair for any feminine lady..
Found in Domayne this wing chair holds a price of $1,999.00
Completely upholstered in MocCroc fabrics in "Metallic Croc Onyx" as its colour it is the perfect simple tone down piece.

And the Final piece a beautifully simple lamp from Beacon Lighting at only 62cm in height this lamp would look stunning on a white or black french provincial style table to add a modern touch to any room.
The lamp is known as "Lola" at $69.95 in Aqua Blue is in my opinion simply stunning.
